Windows Server 2003 does not use this entry. The entry remains in the registry to support programs designed for Windows NT 4.0 and earlier.
In Windows NT 4.0 and earlier, the mouse port driver used this entry to locate pointer port device objects. In Windows Server 2003, the mouse port driver locates non–Plug and Play pointing devices by using entries in the DEVICEMAP subkey (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\Devicemap\PointerClass).
