Enter server settings for a new installation

Notes

  • The topics in this section provide details about entering server settings for a new installation. If you are upgrading, you can skip these topics because Setup will use your previous settings.

  • If you have a mass storage controller (such as a SCSI, RAID, or Fibre Channel adapter) for your hard disk, or if you have a specialized computer requiring a custom hardware abstraction layer (HAL) file supplied by your computer manufacturer, see Start Setup and provide a mass storage driver or a HAL file.

  • After you start Setup, a process begins in which necessary Setup files are copied to the hard disk. During this process, Setup displays dialog boxes that you can use to select various options.
