Identifying the Behavior of the Default Port Rule

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

When Network Load Balancing is installed on a cluster host, a default port rule is created. Table 8.6 lists the configuration of the default port rule that is created during Network Load Balancing installation.

Specify that the default port rule be deleted unless the default port rule is:

  • Appropriate for the applications and services installed on the cluster.

  • Modified for the applications and services installed on the cluster.
