Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To change the maximum quorum-log size

  1. Open Cluster Administrator.

  2. In the console tree, click the cluster.

  3. On the File menu, click Properties.

  4. Click the Quorum tab.

  5. In Reset quorum log at, type the maximum size (in increments of 64 kilobytes) that the quorum log file can be before the cluster resets it.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.

  • To open Cluster Administrator, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Cluster Administrator.

  • The cluster records all changes to the cluster database in the quorum log file. When the quorum log attains the specified size, the cluster saves the database and resets the log file.

  • By default, the maximum size of the quorum log is 4096 kilobytes. You may want to increase the size of the quorum log if the cluster checkpoint file stored on the quorum disk is larger than 4096 kilobytes.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
