Performing an Unattended Installation of Active Directory
Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2
Running an unattended install simplifies the process of setting up Active Directory on multiple computers. The unattended install feature uses an “answer file” to provide answers to the questions that are asked during a normal setup. This way, the installation process can proceed from start to completion without user intervention. This method works best when Active Directory is installed with identical options on many computers. This method is required if you want to include application directory partitions in Active Directory installations from restored backup media.
