Filescrn filegroup list

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Lists currently configured file groups. If you specify a file group, the command output displays file name patterns that are included in the group (members) and file name patterns that are excluded from the group (nonmembers). If used without parameters, the filescrn filegroup list command displays all file groups that are currently configured on the computer.

Syntax

filescrn filegroup list [/filegroup:<FgName>] [/remote:<ComputerName>]

Parameters

Parameter Description

/filegroup:<FgName>

Lists only the single file group FgName. If the group name contains a space, enclose the name in quotation marks.

/remote:<ComputerName>

Performs the operation on the remote computer ComputerName.

Remarks

  • The shortest sequence of characters that uniquely identifies a parameter can be used as an abbreviation. For example, the following two commands are equivalent:

    filescrn f l
    filescrn filegroup list
    
  • To perform operations on a remote computer by using the **/remote:**ComputerName parameter:

    • You must be logged on with a domain account that is a member of the Administrators group on both the local computer and the remote computer.

    • The remote computer must be running Windows Server 2008, and File Server Resource Manager must be installed.

    • The Remote File Server Resource Manager Management exception on the remote computer must be enabled. You enable this exception by using Windows Firewall in Control Panel.

Examples

  • To list all file groups that are currently configured on the local computer, type:

    filescrn filegroup list
    
  • To list the file name patterns included in and excluded from the Executable Files group, type:

    filescrn filegroup list /filegroup:"Executable Files"
