Updated: August 21, 2008

To send and receive e-mail over the Internet, you must complete these additional tasks after you install Windows SBS 2008:

  1. Run the Configure Internet Address Wizard. In addition to setting up the Internet address for your server, this wizard creates the send and receive connectors that Exchange Server needs to route e-mail to and from user mailboxes.

  2. Run the Configure Internet Mail Wizard to complete the configuration. This wizard also enables you to specify a “smart host” server, which enhances the security and reliability of the e-mail messages that users send and receive over the Internet.
