Enable an Alert for a Failed Printer Redirection Operation

Applies To: Operations Manager 2007

By default, the rule that alerts you when a printer redirection operation fails is disabled. To receive an alert when a Terminal Server cannot print on a local printer, you must use an override to enable the rule.

To enable the failed printer redirection operation rule

  1. In the Operations Console, on the Go menu, click Authoring.

  2. In the navigation pane, expand Management Pack Objects, and then click Rules.

    Note

To show rules only for the Terminal Services Management Pack, on the toolbar, click Scope, and then under Target, select the check boxes for the Terminal Services components—for example, Terminal Server 2003 Computer Role.

  3. Under Rules, right-click Terminal Services failed printer redirection operation, point to Overrides, point to Override the Rule, and then click For all objects of type: Terminal Server 2003 Computer Role.

  4. Under Override-controlled parameters, in the Override column, select the check box beside Enabled.

  5. In the Override Setting column, in the drop-down menu, click True, and then click OK.
