(Hard Disk Error) While accessing the hard disk, a recalibrate operation failed, even after retries.

User Action:

This is a Windows 2000 Executive STATUS error message. Choose one of the options from the message box. Run the Chkdsk utility, with the /r option, on the hard disk. After that, if this message reappears, run hardware diagnostics on the disk drive and its controller. If the diagnostics do not detect a problem, contact the hardware and/or driver software suppliers. Before you contact the suppliers, note the information about the event that is in the Event Log. Information in both the Description and Data areas of the Event Detail window will be relevant to this problem.
