Task Deletion

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Task Scheduler5.0

Data type

Default value

0 | 1

Prevents users from deleting new tasks in Scheduled Tasks.

A value of 1 removes the Delete item from the Edit menu in the Scheduled Tasks folder and from the menu that appears when the user right-clicks a task. Also, the system does not respond when users try to cut or drag a task from the Scheduled Tasks folder.

This entry stores the setting of the Disable Task Deletion Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes this entry from the registry, and the system behaves as though the value is 0.
