Updated: October 21, 2008

Applies To: Virtual Machine Manager 2008, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 SP1

Occasionally, the version of Virtual Server that is installed on a host needs to be upgraded to be compatible with Virtual Machine Manager (VMM). You can verify the update status by using either of the following methods:

  • In Hosts view, the Status value for the host will be Needs Attention, and if you click the host the Update Virtual Server action will be active in the Actions pane.

  • If you double-click the host, and then click Status in the Host Properties dialog box, the Virtualization service version property will display the message Upgrade Available.

To update Virtual Server on a host

  1. In Hosts view, navigate to the host group that contains the host, and then select the host in the results pane.

  2. In the Actions pane, click Update Virtual Server.
