Default value

REG_DWORD

0x1–0xFFFFFFFF ( messages )

0x1F4 ( 500 messages )

Description

Specifies the maximum number of mailslot messages queued to the Net Logon service.

The Net Logon service is designed to process incoming mailslot messages immediately, but messages can accumulate when the server is processing many requests. Each mailslot message consumes about 1,500 bytes in the nonpaged memory pool until it is processed.

Reducing the value of this entry limits the amount of the nonpaged memory pool that Net Logon consumes. However, if this value is set too low, Net Logon might reject important incoming mailslot messages.

Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
