Description

Determines how long an inactive connection can remain open. If a connection remains inactive longer than the value of this entry specifies, the connection is closed. Connections are considered to be inactive if they are not transferring NetBIOS session data, such as copying files, accessing network resources, or sending and receiving electronic mail.

Inactive connections never disconnect automatically. This setting might be appropriate when clients are running NetBIOS datagram applications.

The maximum time the system permits an inactive connection to remain open.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use the Auto Disconnect policy in Group Policy. (Computer Settings\Software Policies\Windows NT Remote Access)

Activation method

You must stop and restart Routing and Remote Access before changes to the value of this entry take effect.
