Description

Enables or disables source routing for IP broadcasts.

Some environments require source routing data, but some transparent bridges discard frames with source routing information when passing them to different media types, such as Ethernet. This entry lets you customize the setting of the source routing bit to suit your environment.

TCP/IP transmits Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) queries without source routing on the first attempt. If it does not receive a reply, it retransmits the query with source routing.
