After you select the operating system, Ntdetect.com detects the hardware, gathers a list of the currently installed hardware components, and passes the information to Ntldr.

Ntdetect.com detects the following components:

  • Computer ID

  • Bus/adapter type

  • Video adapter

  • Keyboard

  • Communications ports

  • Floppy disks

  • Mouse or other pointing devices

  • Parallel ports
