Removing a wildcard certificate from a Web server

To remove a wildcard certificate from a Web server

  1. On the Web server on which the wildcard certificate was obtained, click Start, and then point to Administrative Tools. Click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

  2. In Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, expand Web Sites, right-click Default Web Site, and then click Properties.

  3. On the Default Web Site Properties dialog box, click the Directory Security tab.

  4. On the Directory Security tab, click the Server Certificate button.

  5. On the Welcome to the Web Server Certificate Wizard page, click Next.

  6. On the Modify the Current Certificate Assignment page, select Remove the current Certificate, and then click Next.

  7. On the Remove a Certificate page, click Next.

  8. On the Completing the Web Server Certificate Wizard page, click Finish.

  9. Leave the Default Web Site Properties dialog box open so that you are ready for the next procedure.

Note

After you successfully complete this procedure, the next task is to obtain an SSL server certificate on each of the Web servers that will be published by using the wildcard certificate. These certificates will be used to authenticate the Web servers to Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway. For instructions, see Obtaining a certificate on a Web server.
