Form preferences

On this tab, you can configure form customization settings and password management. A brief description of the form customization process is provided here. For more details see the Microsoft TechNet Web site.

Form customization

You can specify a different directory for forms than the default directory provided by Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway. You can also select the language in which your customized forms are displayed.

For example, consider a scenario where you want to use customized forms, and only maintain an English language version of the forms. You would perform the following procedure:

  1. Make a copy of the default Forefront TMG forms directory (Exchange or ISA) in \Forefront TMG Installation Directory\CookieAuthTemplates. Place the copy of the default Forefront TMG forms directory in the same location, for example, \ Forefront TMG Installation Directory\CookieAuthTemplates\MyForms.
  2. Customize the forms in the copied directory. We recommend that you do not change any of the HTML form elements, such as <FORM> and <INPUT>.
  3. Provide the directory name on the Forms tab of the Web listener. Provide only the name of the directory, such as MyForms, not its full path.
  4. To ensure that the forms are displayed only in English, under Display the HTML form in this language, select English [en].

Password management

In password management, you can configure whether Forefront TMG displays user account information, and whether Forefront TMG allows the user to change the password after logging on through an HTML form.

Note

If you are using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) authentication, you must provide the credentials of an Active Directory account for each LDAP server set to have password management functionality. When you use Microsoft Windows authentication, Forefront TMG uses its own Active Directory computer account for this purpose.
