Install the Connector software

Applies To: Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials

The Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials Connector software is installed when you connect your computer to the server using the Connect a Computer to the Server wizard. You can launch this wizard by typing https://<ServerName>/connect in the address bar of your web browser (where <ServerName> is the name of your server).

The Connector software does the following:

  • Connects your computer to Windows SBS 2011 Essentials.

  • Automatically backs up your computer nightly (if you configure the server to create client backups).

  • Monitors the health of your computer.

  • Enables you to configure and remotely administer Windows SBS 2011 Essentials from your home computer.
