Define a New Option

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

You can use this procedure to define a new option.

Membership in the Domain Admins group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To define a new option

  1. Open DHCP.

  2. In the console tree, click the applicable DHCP server.

  3. On the Action menu, click Set Predefined Options.

  4. In Predefined Options and Values, click Add.

  5. In Option Type, type the required information to define the new option, and then click OK.

Note

By default, standard DHCP options and BOOTP extensions as described in RFC 2132 are predefined for use at DHCP servers running Windows Server 2008.
