How to: Display Advanced Mode in the Grouping Pane

By default, the Grouping pane displays row and column group membership for the tablix data region that is selected on the report design surface. To display individual static and dynamic row and column members of a group, you must switch to Advanced mode. After you switch to Advanced mode, you can select a tablix member and set its properties in the Properties pane.

For row and column members that are not controlled by a group header, you must set properties on the tablix member to control the following features:

  • Whether column headings and row headings repeat when a tablix data region expands across multiple pages.

  • Whether column headings and row headings stay in view when you scroll through a report that contains a tablix data region that spans multiple pages.

For more information, see Controlling Row and Column Headings.

To switch to Advanced mode

  1. In Design view, on the report design surface, select a tablix data region. The Grouping pane displays row and column groups.

  2. On the side of the Grouping pane, click the down arrow, and then click Advanced.

The Row Groups pane and the Column Groups pane display the static and dynamic row and column tablix members for the selected tablix data region.
