About Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007 with Service Pack 2 virtual machine

Applies To: Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG)

Prior to Whale Communications Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2), IAG was only available as a hardware appliance produced by OEMs. With the release of SP2, IAG is available in an additional form—IAG virtual machine.

The main benefits of IAG virtual machine are the following:

  • It can exist in a virtual environment.

  • It can be run on standardized servers.

  • It can reside in a controlled environment.

  • It provides an easy lab and staging environment.

IAG virtual machine can be acquired through Microsoft Volume Licensing. It is also available as trial software that you can download and use for evaluation purposes, for a limited period of time. For installation instructions, see Installing IAG with Service Pack 2 as a virtual machine.

Note

IAG virtual machine is only supported from IAG version 3.7 SP2; it is not supported for earlier versions of IAG.

Migrating configuration settings

You can import and export configuration settings between an IAG SP2 hardware appliance and IAG virtual machine.

For more information on importing and exporting configuration settings, see Backing up and restoring the IAG configuration.
