Assigning an IAG portal home page

Applies To: Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG)

This topic describes how to assign a home page to a Whale Communications Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007 portal.

Assigning a portal home page

Assign a portal home page as follows:

To assign a portal home page

  1. In the IAG Configuration console, click the portal trunk.

  2. In Initial Internal Application, in Initial Application, select a home page to assign to the portal.

If you use a customized home page instead of the default home page provided by IAG, note the following:

  • You can use any of the applications that are supported by IAG out-of-the-box to provide a portal home page, or you can use a generic application or HTML page.

  • A sample portal page is provided in the following location:

    \Whale-Com\e-Gap\Von\PortalHomePage\samples

  • When you use a customized home page, you cannot personalize the site. All users are able to view all links configured in the customized portal page, regardless of their access permissions. You can however use authorized settings configured for specific applications published in the portal.

  • The IAG default portal home page provides a folder option that allows you to group together a number of applications. This option is not available when using a customized home page.

  • The IAG default portal home page allows you to control the appearance of an application link when accessed by clients that do not comply with the access policy of the application. This option is not available in a customized home page.
