About the IAG Service Policy Manager console

Applies To: Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG)

Use the Whale Communications Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007 Service Policy Manager console to predefine IP addresses and ports for the external Web site and application server, for HTTP and HTTPS connections. You access the Service Policy Manager console as follows:

To access the Service Policy Manager

  1. On the IAG server, click Start. Point to Programs, click Whale Communications IAG, click Additional Tools , and then click Service Policy Manager.

  2. If you have not accessed either the Service Policy Manager or the IAG Configuration console previously, you are prompted to define an IAG encryption key. For more information, see About installing and deploying IAG.

  3. If you have previous accessed the IAG Configuration console, but are accessing Service Policy Manager for the first time, you are prompted to create a password for Service Policy Manager. For more information, see Configuring IAG network and server settings.

  4. If you have already created an encryption passphrase and a Service Policy Manager password, specify the password when prompted.

  5. In the Service Policy Manager console, click New to create a new Service Policy Manager file (.smf). Click Open to open an existing Service Policy Manager file. Click Save to save the current file. Click Activate to save the file and activate the Service Policy Manager configuration.

When you create a trunk in the IAG Configuration console, the IP address and port values you can select are limited to those that are predefined in Service Policy Manager. By default IP addresses are defined with wildcards (*.*.*.*), so that you can specify any address when creating an IAG trunk. For more information about modifying predefined values, see Modifying IAG network and server settings.

Messages displayed by the Service Policy Manager console are displayed in the message pane of the console. You can also configure IAG to display messages in the Windows Event Viewer. For instructions, see Customizing IAG event messages.
