Configure Wireless Clients Running Windows XP for 802.1X Authenticated Access

Select from the procedures in this section to configure the appropriate Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) authentication in the Windows XP Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11) Policies. The Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11) Policies enable you to configure wireless profiles that contain the wireless security and EAP authentication settings that wireless clients running Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 will use to connect to your wireless network.

Similar to the wireless policy for computers running Windows Vista, you can configure and prioritize multiple profiles by using the wireless network policy for computers running Windows XP. However, unlike the wireless policy for Windows Vista, the wireless policy for Windows XP requires each profile to specify a unique service set identifier (SSID).

Membership in Domain Admins, or equivalent, is the minimum requirement to complete these procedures:
