The Unified Messaging Recipient Management management role is one of several built-in administrative roles that make up the Role Based Access Control (RBAC) permissions model in Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. Administrators that are assigned the Unified Messaging Recipient Management role can manage unified messaging (UM) properties on recipients in the Exchange organization. Administrators assigned this role can't modify any other aspects of UM configuration.

For more information about UM, see Unified Messaging.

For more information about RBAC, see Understanding Role Based Access Control.

For a list of cmdlets that can be run by users and universal security groups (USGs) that are assigned the Unified Messaging Recipient Management role, see Management Role Cmdlet and Parameter Map.

The Unified Messaging Recipient Management role should be assigned to administrators that are responsible either for the overall recipient management in an organization, along with the Recipient Management role, or assigned to administrators that focus only on UM recipient management.
