Learn more about the Windows Home Server password

You use the Windows Home Server password to access the Windows Home Server Console, to install the Windows Home Server Connector software on your home computers, to restore home computers, and to open backups.

Your Windows Home Server password must be strong, which means that it must be at least seven characters long and complex. A complex password must contain at least three of the following four character categories:

  • Uppercase letters

  • Lowercase letters

  • Symbols (such as !, @, #, etc.)

To change the password, click the Change Password button on the Passwords page of Windows Home Server Settings.
