Event Details

Product: Windows Operating System
ID: 10130
Source: Microsoft-Windows-WinRM
Version: 6.1
Symbolic Name: LOG_MSG_WSMAN_INVALID_STAR_IPFILTER
Message: IP Filter %1 specified in the GPO policy for Auto Configuration of listeners is invalid and it will be ignored. Due to this issue, the WinRM service cannot use the autoconfigured listener.

"*" is used to indicate that the service should listen on all available IPs on the machine. When "*" is used, other ranges cannot be specified in the filter.

User Action
Remove other IP ranges if "*" needs to be included in the IP Filter.

Resolve

Fix wildcard issue in autoconfiguration of listener policy

An asterisk (*) is used to indicate that the service should listen on all available IPs on the computer. When an asterisk (*) is used, other ranges cannot be specified in the filter. Remove other IP ranges if an asterisk (*) must be included in the IP Filter.

Verify

Use the winrm command line tool to create a request to the WinRM service to verify that the service is listening on the network.

To make a request, type winrm get winrm/config -r:<computer>, where computer is the name of the remote computer where the winrm service is running.
