Network Printer Ports

Network printer ports are what the printer driver uses to communicate with the physical device across a network. These ports may be standard TCP/IP printer ports, Line Printer Remote (LPR) ports, or other kinds of ports.

LPD Service Status

The TCP/IP Print Server service (LPDSVC), also known as the Line Printer Daemon (LPD) service, enables UNIX-based computers or other computers that are using the Line Printer Remote (LPR) service to print to shared printers on this server.

LPR Service Status

The Line Printer Remote (LPR) service enables the computer to print to a printer or print server that uses the Line Print Daemon (LPD) service, which is commonly used by UNIX servers.

Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Monitor Status

The standard TCP/IP printer port ponitor (TCPMon.dll) is the best-performing printer port monitor for network printers on a computer running Microsoft Windows.
