Message Queuing Windows 2000 Client Support Operation

Updated: December 3, 2008

Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2

You can use the Message Queuing Windows 2000 Client Support service to run Message Queuing in domain mode on Windows 2000 computers that are joined to a Windows Server 2003 domain or a Windows Server 2008 domain. This service must generate audit logs and have a global catalog to operate properly.

Event ID Source Message

The Message Queuing Downlevel Client Support service has insufficient privileges to create audit log messages.

The server cannot support the automatic recognition of sites and connected networks for downlevel clients. The problem might be caused by Active Directory replication delays. Please restart the Message Queuing Downlevel Client Support service after replication has completed.

Message Queuing detected a problem with the local domain controller. Until the problem is resolved, Message Queuing will function unpredictably. Using Event Viewer, inspect the directory service, File Replication service, and system logs to help identify the problem.

There is an inconsistency between the actual network addresses and the addresses that are listed on other Message Queuing servers for this computer.
