What's New in DPM 2007 SP1

Updated: January 1, 2009

Applies To: System Center Data Protection Manager 2007

Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) provides enhanced support for Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS), including significant performance improvements when protecting WSS farms, and search index backups for WSS and MOSS. DPM 2007 SP1 supports protection for Hyper-V, including support for both guest-based and host-based protection. DPM 2007 SP1 supports protection for mirrored SQL Server databases and mirrored clusters, and also supports Microsoft Exchange Server Standby Continuous Replication (SCR). You can use SCR to replicate your Exchange Server data sources and Exchange Server clusters to a remote network location. For an additional layer of protection, DPM 2007 SP1 enables you to back up local file servers and Hyper-V hosts on the DPM server.
