How to Create a Profile

You create a new profile by using the Customer and Orders Manager. The profile types that are available in Commerce Server 2009 are User Object, Address, Blanket Purchase Order, Credit Card, Organization, and Currency. You can create profiles for any of these profile types. If your business dictates a need for profiles other than those provided by Commerce Server 2009, your site developer can create custom profiles to suit your business needs.

To create a profile

  1. To open Customer and Orders Manager, click Start, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 , and then click Customer and Orders Manager.

  2. In Customer and Orders Manager, in the Views pane, click Profiles.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click New Profile.

  4. In the Create New Profile dialog box, in the Profiletype box, select a profile type from the drop-down list, and then click OK.

    The profile types available are:

    • Address

    • Blanket Purchase Order

    • Credit Card

    • Organization

    • User Object

    • Currency

      Note

The regional settings currency must match the site currency (buyer currency) to make sure that Commerce Server 2009 uses the correct format for the site currency.

  5. Click OK.

Depending on the profile type you select, you will have to provide the information that is required to complete the profile.
