Start or Stop an FTP Site

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

You may have to stop and restart an FTP site to resolve a temporary problem, such as if the site is slow or if it becomes unresponsive. When you stop the FTP site, all existing connections to the site are disconnected and new connections are denied. You can restart the site to resume accepting client connections.

To start an FTP Site

  1. Open IIS Manager.

  2. In the Connections pane, expand the server node and click the Sites node.

  3. In the Sites list, select the FTP site that you want to start.

  4. In the Actions pane, under Manage FTP Site, click Start.

Note

The Start action is available only for stopped FTP sites.

To stop an FTP Site

  2. In the Connections pane, expand the server node and click the Sites node.

  3. In the Sites list, select the FTP site that you want to stop.
