Office Communications Server Settings

You can use the Office Communications Server tab of the System Wide view to specify the host and port for connecting to Office Communications Server 2007 R2.

This tab contains the following settings:

  • Host: Identifies the address of the computer that hosts Office Communications Server 2007 R2. The identification method depends on the edition of Office Communications Server 2007 R2. For Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Standard Edition, this box uses the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server. For Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Enterprise Edition, this box uses the name of the pool. This address must be the same name that is on the server certificate.
  • Port: Identifies the port used to connect the server to Office Communications Server 2007 R2. To automatically connect to the correct port, select the Auto detect port check box. We recommend that you select the Auto detect port check box.

To modify the Office Communications Server settings

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Group Chat Server.

  2. In the Group Chat Server Configuration Tool, on the File menu, click Configure Server Settings.

  3. Click the System Wide button, and then select the Office Communications Server tab.

  4. Modify the host and port settings as necessary.

    If you use the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) setting, TCP must be enabled for Office Communications Server 2007 R2.
