Remote Administration Requirements

Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 will reach end of support on January 9, 2018. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.

If you want to use remote administration to deploy or administer Office Communications Server 2007 R2 while Windows Firewall is running, you must configure Windows Firewall to enable the remote administration exception. To remotely administer or deploy the Web Components Server, you must also add Inetinfo.exe to the Windows Firewall exceptions list.
