Office Communications Server 2007 R2 stores data in databases and file shares. These databases and file shares reside on the following servers:

  • Standard Edition servers
  • Front End Servers in an Enterprise pool
  • Back-end servers in an Enterprise pool
  • Archiving Servers
  • Monitoring Servers
  • Group Chat Servers (including Compliance Servers)
  • Communicator Web Access servers
  • Application Servers

Additionally, domain information is stored in Active Directory Domain Services.
