Implement Scalability and Availability
The CCF infrastructure supports horizontal and vertical scalability:
- Horizontal scalability and increased availability of CCF services is supported by a fully distributed architecture that enables a solution to use Microsoft NLB services or Hardware load balancer solutions to load balance requests across multiple servers in a Web farm.
- Vertical scalability is supported by the underlying implementation of CCF. CCF can make full use of 64-bit servers running multiple and multi-core CPUs. Additionally, the underlying infrastructure makes of SQL Server to provide persistence for dehydrated workflows, and also for configuration information for CCF. SQL Server is a highly scalable database management system.
