Scenario 4 –DCS Services Installed on Separate Servers

In this scenario, you install associated DCS services and corresponding databases on separate servers. You then install the client application on a separate computer.

The following figure illustrates the scenario 4 deployment topology.

Scenario 4 – Service installed on separate computers

To install DCS SP1 in a scenario 4 configuration

  1. On Server A, follow the installation instructions described in Performing a Clean DCS SP1 Installation. On the Custom Setup page, select Discovery Service and Business Log Database, and clear all other choices. Complete the remaining installation steps.

  3. Scenario 4 – Custom Setup page for Server A

  4. On Server B, follow the installation instructions described in Performing a Clean DCS SP1 Installation. On the Custom Setup page, select Management Service, and clear all other choices. Complete the remaining installation steps.

  7. On Server C, follow the installation instructions described in Performing a Clean DCS SP1 Installation. On the Custom Setup page, select ApplicationManagement Service and clear all other choices. Complete the remaining installation steps.

  10. On Server D, follow the installation instructions described in Performing a Clean DCS SP1 Installation. On the Custom Setup page, select Policy Store and Security Token Service clear all other choices. Complete the remaining installation steps.
