Configuring CCF for Secure Communications

Agent Desktop and CCF Server interaction is based on WCF (or DCS) web services. You might want to use secure connections in cases where sensitive customer information is exchanged between the Agent Desktop and CCF server. You can use the HTTPS protocol (instead of HTTP) for the web servicess to secure communications between Agent Desktop and the CCF server.

Secure communications are imperative in scenarios where security extensions are used in environments where ID-CCF server communications are carried over potentially unsafe networks. For example, a Contact Center that allows its agents to use the Internet to connect to the CCF Server. In this case, critical information restricted to the Contact Center is trasmitted over the Internet, and thus comprimising on the data security. The following sections describe the configuration settings required to implement the HTTPS protocol.
