Installing CCF Core Services on a Windows 2008 machine

You can install CCF Core services on a Windows 2008 machine. You must ensure that you have an accessible SQL Server that stores (or will store) the CCF Database. CCF supports deployment across multi-lingual servers, and in hybrid environments (environments that consist of 32-bit and 64-bit machines).

Following are the prerequisites for installing CCF Core Services on a Windows 2008 machine:

  • Windows Server 2008. For more information about configuring CCF on a Windows 2008 machine, see the section Configuring Windows Server 2008.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 or 3.5 available from Microsoft. In Windows Server 2008 -> Server manager, ensure the .NET Framework feature is installed
  • Microsoft Internet Information Server 7.0
  • Microsoft MMC 3.0

Note

CCF SP1 provides a separate installer for 64-bit machines in the folder x64 of the installer package.

To install CCF 2009 SP1 Core Server:

  1. On the Product CD, click Setup.

  2. In the Welcome window, click Next.

  3. In License Agreement window, read the End User License Agreement, select the agree button, and click Next.

  4. In the Customer Information window, enter the User Name and Organization and click Next.

  5. The installer checks for any previous CCF installations, and displays an appropriate machine. If you want to upgrade an existing installation of CCF, click on Update else click Next1Custom Setup screen.   7. In the Custom Setup screen, select the following components of and click on Next:

    • Admin Console
    • Server Components > CCF Server Web Services
    • Server Components > Citrix Server Component
    • Server Components > SCOM
  8. Optionally, you can change the installed path by click on Change and choosing an alternative path.

  9. Note

    You should not change the default path for Web Services component (C:\Inetpub\wwwroot</STRONG>).

  10. You are prompted to configure your Windows 2008 server before you install the components. For more information on preparing your Windows 2008 machine, see Configuring Windows Server 2008.

  12. Click OK to display the installation prerequisite check dialog box.

  13. The installation checks for the availability of prerequisites and displays a report. The prerequisites that are not available are marked with an error symbol. Ensure you have all the prerequisites installed and click OK.

  15. The Server Configuration screen is displayed.

  17. In the Server Configuration window, enter the server information and click Next.

  18. Note

    CCF 2009 only supports default and named instances for SQL Server, and not aliases. Ensure you enter only the default or named instance in the SQL Server (\Instance Name).

  19. In the CCF Services – Application Pool screen, enter the password for ASPUSER and click Next. ASPUSER is the domain account that is used to run the Application Pool in IIS. In case you are using a different domain account, enter the user name and password appropriately.

  20. Note

    You can install the CCF Services only in one website using the CCF installer. To deploy the CCF services in other web sites, you must copy the CCF Web Services folder from <InstallPath>/Program Files/Microsoft CCF 2009/Web Services/ to the target website folder in <wwwrootDir>.

  1. In the Ready to Install screen, click Install to start the installation.

  2. The Post Installation Scripts screen is displayed after the installation is complete.

  3. Click Next in the Post Installation Scripts screen to complete the installation.

  4. Click Finish. You will have to restart the machine for the changes to take effect.
