Home Server Health Notifications
Windows Home Server reports its health status to your Windows Home Server Console.
Health Status Information
The following health status information is reported:
Server Hard Drive
State | Description |

Yellow |
Less than x% of the space is available for server storage. If your total server storage is:

Shared folder duplication has stopped for one or more shared folders because server storage is low. |
Yellow |
One or more hard drives have failed. Applies to Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART) hard drives only. |
Red |
Less than x% of the space is available for server storage. If your total server storage is:

One or more hard drives have failed. |
Product Activation
Product activation ensures that you have a licensed version of Windows Home Server. After you complete Setup, Windows Home Server needs to be activated within 30 days.
State | Description |

Yellow |
15 days or less remain for you to activate Windows Home Server. |
Red |
10 days or less remain for you to activate Windows Home Server. |
Windows Update on Windows Home Server
Updates are automatically downloaded and installed when Windows Updates is turned on. However, some updates require your approval before they are installed. For these updates, a notification prompts you for approval.

Shared Folder Duplication
A health notification is sent for the following shared folder issues.

A shared folder contains one or more files with a path name longer than 260 characters. These files cannot be duplicated. |
Yellow |
There is not enough server storage space for folder duplication. |
Evaluation Period Expiration
The Evaluation version of Windows Home Server expires after 120 days. After it expires, you can upgrade it to a fully licensed version. For more information, see Learn how to upgrade.

15 days or less remain before your evaluation copy of Windows Home Server expires. |
Backup Database
If Windows Home Server detects errors in the backup database, a health notification is sent. For more information, see Tell me more about repairing the backup database.
