Media Sharing

You can stream video, music, and photos from Windows Home Server to devices on your home network by using Media Library Sharing.

Important

If you purchased your home server from a hardware manufacturer or a system builder, they may provide an alternate media sharing solution. In this case, the built-in media sharing features of Windows Home Server might be disabled, and the features that are described here are not present on your home server. See your home server’s documentation for details.

From the Media Sharing page on Windows® Home Server Settings, you can configure Windows Home Server to stream digital media from the following shared folders:

  • Music

  • Photos

  • Videos

To stream the digital media, click On for each shared folder that you want to stream from.
