Managing BHOLD workflows in the FIM Portal

Applies To: Forefront Identity Manager

Forefront Identity Manager 2012 R2 SP1 (FIM) workflows route requests to approve a proposed-role for a user to the approvers specified for the role. You can modify the BHOLD FIM Integration workflows to change how that routing takes place, or you can add custom workflows that you design yourself. For information about creating and managing FIM workflows, see FIM 2010 Technical Overview.

When BHOLD FIM Integration is installed, it creates three FIM workflows that control the approval process:

  • _BHOLD ROLE Management – Line Management Approval

  • _BHOLD ROLE Management – Role Management Approval

  • _BHOLD ROLE Management – Security Office Approval

You can modify these workflows to change the amount of time that can elapse before the request expires or is escalated, and you can modify them to specify the number of approvers of each type that must approve a request for the approval to be effective. These procedures require you to be logged on as a FIM administrator.

To change the expiration time for a workflow

  1. In the FIM Portal, in the left pane, click Workflows.

  2. On the Workflows page, click the workflow that you want to modify.
