Set up sizes, colors, and styles (Retail essentials) [AX 2012]

Updated: July 22, 2014

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3

This topic explains how to set up product sizes, colors, and styles to distinguish the product variants that your retail products are offered in. After you set up the various products and product variants, you can create variant groups and then assign the groups to your retail products.

NoteNote

In Retail essentials, the forms that you use to complete these tasks might include a subset of the controls that are available for other configurations of Retail. If another topic about these forms describes controls that you don't see, it may be because you’re using Retail essentials.

  1. Click Retail essentials > Merchandising > Setup > Variant groups > Sizes.

    –or–

Click Retail essentials > Merchandising > Setup > Variant groups > Colors.

    –or–

Click Retail essentials > Merchandising > Setup > Variant groups > Styles.

  2. In the Product dimension form, click New to create a new size, color, or style.

  3. In the Size, Color, or Style field, enter the name of the size, color, or style.

You can also view, add, or remove individual sizes, colors, and styles from a product master.

  1. Click Retail essentials > Merchandising > Products by category.

  2. In the Product details form, select a product that has a Product subtype value of Product master. Then, on the Action Pane, in the Product master group, click Product dimensions.
