Report server database is not configured

Upgrade is blocked due to an incomplete report server configuration. The report server database is not configured.

Description

Setup can only upgrade a fully configured report server instance. To continue, you must either configure the report server database, or use Add or Remove Programs to remove the report server feature from the SQL Server installation. After you remove Reporting Services, you can upgrade other SQL Server components.

Corrective Action

If you did not configure the report server database, the report server is not operational and should be removed prior to upgrade.

To remove SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

  2. Select Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services and click Remove.

  3. Complete the uninstall wizard and then re-run Upgrade Advisor to confirm that there are no other upgrade issues.

To remove SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

  2. Select Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and click Change.

  3. Select the instance that includes Reporting Services, click Next, and select Reporting Services to remove it.

  4. Re-run Upgrade Advisor to confirm that there are no other upgrade issues.
