PRO-Enabled Management Packs

The topics in this section explain the operations of PRO-enabled management packs that support Performance and Resource Optimization (PRO) in System Center Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) 2008 R2. The VMM 2008 R2 Management Pack includes four PRO-enabled management packs that define the basic classes and groups that support PRO and provide monitors to optimize the performance of hosts and virtual machines based on CPU and memory thresholds.
All other PRO-enabled management packs are dependent on the VMM 2008 R2 Management Pack or the VMM 2008 Management Pack. More specifically, all other PRO-enabled management packs are dependent on the System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 PRO Library management pack, version 2.0.3451.0 or later, which is a component of both the VMM 2008 R2 Management Pack and the VMM 2008 Management Pack.
Any PRO-enabled management packs that you imported for use with the VMM 2008 Management Pack should be compatible with the VMM 2008 R2 Management Pack. However, you will need to remove them and then import them again when you update to the VMM 2008 R2 Management Pack.
