The Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 version of the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer analyzes the server on which it is runs to determine whether the server is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.

If the tool detects that it is running on an Exchange 2010-based server, the tool generates an error message.

Exchange 2010 does not support earlier versions of the Best Practices Analyzer. You must use the Exchange 2010 version of Exchange Best Practices Analyzer to scan Exchange 2010-based servers.

To address this issue, run the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer from Exchange 2010. The Exchange Best Practices Analyzer is located in the Toolbox node in the Exchange Management Console.
