Outlook Express and Windows Mail

Updated: October 16, 2009

Applies To: Windows 7

The Windows Mail utility is deprecated in Windows® 7.

Additional information

The publicly documented APIs that are not marked as deprecated or obsolete will continue to function in Windows 7 and Windows Server® 2008 R2. In addition, the users' e-mail (.eml) and news (.nws) files will remain on the computer after it is updated.
