The following content is a list of deprecated features and functionalities in Windows® 7 and Windows Server® 2008 R2 and is intended for IT professionals who are updating operating systems in a commercial environment. While this list does not include every deprecated feature or functionality, it will be updated periodically. Deprecation of a feature or functionality occurs when a feature or functionality is planned for eventual removal, but will remain with certain legacy functionality removed in the current version of the product. The deprecated features or functionalities in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 should be regarded as warnings not to use the features or functionalities because they may be removed in future releases.
