Sitemap Index Page

Applies To: Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

The Sitemap Index page lets you maintain a Sitemap index file for your Web site. When you have more than one Sitemap file for your Web site, a Sitemap index lets you conveniently list their locations so that search engines can find them.

To filter the Sitemaps that are displayed for the Sitemap index, enter search text in the Filter box and click Go. To remove the filter, click Show All. Sort the list by clicking one of the feature page column headings.

UI Element List

The following tables describe the columns on the feature page and the tasks in the Actions pane.

Column Name Description

Location

Displays the location of the Sitemap on your Web site. Double-clicking the entry opens it in the Edit Entry Dialog Box.

Displays the date when the Sitemap was last modified. This value does not refer to the change date of any of the content of the Web pages that are listed in the Sitemap. It refers only to the date when changes were made to the Sitemap file itself (for example, the date when you added or deleted URLs from the Sitemap). For more information, see Sitemaps XML format.
