You create a new data object to expose a database table (or an LDAP class) to the Profiles resource.
You create new data members to expose columns in a database table (or attributes in an LDAP class) to the Profiles resource.
You create a new profile definition that uses the data object to map to the database.
You use the profile designer screen in the Profiles resource to add a new property to the profile definition and assign it a data member.
You verify that your profile definitions map to existing data stores.
You use the site terms editor screen in the Profiles resource to create a site term to restrict data input on your Web site.
You use the profile designer screen to link a profile definition or a site term to a profile definition.
